Исследование клеточных и молекулярных основ поведения у Пластинчатых, Гребневиков и моллюсков является важным для анализа эволюции и функционального биоразнообразия животных в целом, с фокусом на формирование их интеграционных и нервных систем. Интегрируя методы современной филогеномики, технологии секвенирования транскриптомов единичных клеток (scRNA-seq), машинного обучения, изучения протеомики и метаболомики на уровне отдельных клеток у многоклеточных животных, можно реконструировать генеалогию клеточных типов, прослеживая ее вплоть до представителей базовых Многоклеточных на примере простейшей клеточной организации.
